Most editors of scientific journals are men

Only 14% of the editors of scientific journals are women. On the other hand, 12% of the editors publish their works in their journal. These conclusions are drawn from a study published in the journal Nature Human Behavior.
In total, data from more than 80,000 publishers have participated in more than 1,000 journals from 15 disciplines for 50 years have been analyzed. And you've seen that, even though the number of women has been increasing over the years, 14 percent of all editors and 8 percent of major editors are women.
Most editors (except the largest journals) are active scientists, and analyzing their publication history, they have seen that 12% of editors publish one in five papers in their publication and 6% publish one third. In addition, the analysis shows that, compared to women, men publish more in a journal after becoming editors of it.
