If everything goes as expected, the Japanese will be the first to send a spacecraft to an asteroid, take samples and bring it to Earth. The mission, called Hayabusa, aims to collect and land samples from the asteroid Itokawa. For the moment it has overcome all the obstacles that have emerged on the road, but there is still much to do. On a good path, the spacecraft will reach Earth in 2007, specifically Australia.
