Spherical fruits and vegetables, such as pumpkins and tomatoes, have various buzzes, their lacustrine character, protrusions, etc. However, its appearance is not random. A team from Columbia University of New York has investigated the form and model of deterioration followed to take this form of fruits, and concluded that three characteristics of the fruits condition the type of buzzing: the thickness of the surface of the fruit with respect to the width, the difference between the surface of the fruit and the hardness of the crumb and the shape of the spherical fruit. Thus, they cannot adopt the same form an elongated fruit and one crushed at the ends, nor two fruits with different thickness of the skin and similar spherical forms.
