Diclofenac is a conventional anti-inflammatory drug that is marketed, among others, with the commercial name of Volta. It has been used for decades, but now some Australian researchers are asking to review the drug because it increases the risk of heart disease.
The doubt has occurred after analyzing 23 published studies on this drug, which have analyzed a total of 1.6 million cases and which, according to the researchers, the risk of infarction or sudden death increases by 40%. Therefore, they ask that the security level of diclofenac be reviewed and, if necessary, withdraw from the market. On the other hand, this work considers that naproxen is a drug without danger, so it can replace diclofen.
