Discover the planet furthest from the Solar System

American astronomers have discovered a new planet at 18,000,000,000 km from the Sun, the most remote object ever detected in the solar system.

It is a dwarf planet that takes more than 1,000 years to turn around the Sun, 120 times farther than the Earth. In view of its brightness, it is estimated that it can reach 500 km in diameter. It has a soft pink color that can be representative of a lot of ice.

The dwarf planet has been nicknamed “Farout” because it is difficult to remember the official name 2018 VG18. Astronomers have recognized that they have found it by chance because they were looking for a planet that is actually several times greater than the Earth. It has been discovered by researchers from the University of Hawaii, the University of Northern Arizona and the Carnegie Institution for Science.
