The snow panther (Panthera uncia) is a wild cat that inhabits the Himalayas. We do not know much about the life of this animal, and now, thanks to the project funded by the British Royal Geographical Society, the first photos of his life have been taken.
According to recent studies, in an area of 2.3 million square kilometers there are only 7,000 specimens and the amount is shrinking rapidly. It is very common for Himalayan shepherds to kill the protective panther of their flocks. In addition, they also hunt for their precious skin and, on the other hand, in Chinese medicine the bones of the snow panther have been used as substitutes for the bones of the tigers.
Remote control cameras have been used for the new studio. This technique will measure the degree of results of the efforts being made to conserve the snow panther, as well as develop new population measurement systems.
