SpaceShipOne has won the X Prize, the spacecraft race conducted by private companies.
To win the prize, the boat had to climb up to 100 kilometers in height twice within two weeks; SpaceShipOne has managed to do so in a week. Being the first private spacecraft to build it, Scaled Composites has won a $10 million prize.
The ship was launched from the Mojave desert in California. To do this, through the White Knight plane they climbed 15 kilometers and released him. In the second flight, SpaceShipOne reached a height of 112 kilometers and thus the new height record of flights that do not enter orbit.
