We analyze the lava channels of the Etna volcano

Special lava channels have been found in the Etna volcano. According to experts from the University of Catania, these channels are not generated by thermal erosion.
Until recently it has been believed that the lava opened the new paths through the heat, that is, generating the lava channels by fusion of the rocks of the area. However, lately they have begun to realize that channels can be deployed by other agents other than heat. Well, the experts of the University of Catania are following this hypothesis to investigate the Laghetto channel, created in the 2001 eruption. When the channel was created, they took images - the university is in the same volcano of Etna - and they believe that it is an open channel not by heating but by friction.
It is possible that other lava channels of the Etna volcano have also formed by mechanical erosion, so they also intend to be fixed in the older channels.
