In the town of Sainte-Dorothee, in the Montreal area, a house called “Novtec” has been built that saves maximum energy. It treats water through reverse osmosis and represents a major domotic advance. It has recycled glass fibers on the walls and appliances have been selected based on their energy consumption.

Existing ornamental plants for air cleaning are also important in this house model called “Novtec”. The Jardinera trees have been placed so that temperature changes in the home are the minimum possible by wind and sun. Conifers hinder dominant winds and other tree species have been placed in shade conditions in summer thanks to their extensive leaves. In winter, due to the narrow, leafless branches, as much light as possible will arrive.

The garden grass has also been chosen. Because it is a type of desert herb, water also needs half the normal.
