View of a lost Roman city

Researchers from the University of Padua discover the missing Roman city called Altinum. The image is formed by a combination of two cameras: an optical camera and a near-infrared radiation camera. In addition to technology, it has been important to take pictures, since the researchers had to take advantage of a strong drought in 2007 to be able to see the city in those frequencies.

Altinum is very close to the current Venice and in the images you can see the structure of the city and the organization of water channels. According to the experts, it is a singular city, since most of the cities of the time were buried under the medieval cities, so it is impossible to investigate through this technique of image.
