The kilogram is the basic unit for the masses of the International System of Units. Until 20 May it was defined according to a platinum iridium cylinder made in 1889. Seeing that over time the mass was losing, they decided to base the definition on a constant: Constant of Planck.
Planck's constant represents the relationship between the energy of a few (or photon) of energy and the frequency of the corresponding radiation, and its value now is: \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Also modified are the definitions of ampere (basic unit of electrical intensity in electric current), kelvin (unit of thermodynamic temperature) and mol (unit of matter), which are also based on constants.
