Despite the inability to eradicate the disease, new research has shown that some temperature changes can be used as observations.

The bacteria that produce cholera, Vibrio cholerae, hide in crustaceans as copepods. These animals can spread to water sources if bacteria enter rivers or estuaries. If humans drink untreated water they can get diseases.

Satellite tracking has shown a close relationship between water temperatures, cocopepods and cholera outbreaks. Increased water temperature can lead to copepod movement and bacterial dispersion. Therefore, they have proposed conducting satellite inspections to combat this disease.
