Scientists have long believed that the oceans were generators of seismic activity, but belief is not enough and have now shown that they worked properly. In fact, in the area between the Labrador Sea and Iceland, it has been shown that when the waves collide they emit a vibration at the bottom of the sea and that the distancing it generates can be detected thousands of kilometers from there. The study of these microseisms helps to better understand the structure of the terrestrial surface. The study has been published in the scientific journal Proceedings of the Royal Society A.
