The Mayans wrote before what was thought

The Maya pyramid, Las Pinturas, was discovered in Guatemala in 2005. And in that structure they have found hieroglyphs, which seem of 2,500 years ago, so the Mayans wrote before what was thought.
The writing is in a column: ten hieroglyphs, written in fine black lines on white plaster. Among others, the writing shows the character they call ajaw: authority or lord.
Taking into account the writings that have been found so far, the experts considered that the Mayans received the writing of the civilizations of the area - by Zapotecs or by Olmecias - precisely because they believed they began to write later than they did. But this discovery has totally discarded this conviction, and it is even possible that the Olmecs pick up writing from the Maya because they are more recent writings and used similar characters.
