Seismologists from Turkey and France announce that the earthquake will take place in the vicinity of the Marmarmara Sea.
The terrible earthquake that occurred on August 17 in Izmit in Turkey killed more than 30,000 people. Researchers have analyzed terrestrial deformations in the northern fault of the Anatolian peninsula. It is a meeting point between two tectonic plates that have been found with an average annual slide of 2.5 centimeters. They have also known the areas of greatest tension.
It is estimated that in the coming decades there will be at least two earthquakes, as strong as that of Izmit, at the western end of the fault. Around this fault earthquakes have been constant since 1700, but in the West they have not existed in the last 233 years. That is why they believe that in the next decades they will be there
