Scientists at McGill Canadian University have discovered giant magnetic fossils in the North American state of New Jersey. The largest is 4 microns, a measure never seen in magnetic fossils of microorganisms. They are fossils of large groups of microorganisms, each microorganism grain had inside a piece of magnetite, so when fossilized the group produced a large magnetic mineral. They have been discovered in sediments of 55 million years ago and, according to experts, the existence of the fossil itself indicates that at that time there was a climate change for an adequate climate that allowed the introduction of large microorganisms in the magnetite.
