Decrease chronic pain without side effects

Medications to treat chronic pain have side effects that, in addition to eliminating pain, are usually sedative. But not necessarily, researchers at the University of Zurich have discovered a compound that reduces pain without being sedative. For this purpose, the neurons of the column, specifically the sedative receptors, have been investigated. They are complex proteins with many zones. An effect or other is achieved depending on the point to which the molecules are associated. Swiss researchers have discovered a molecule that reduces pain without associating it to the sedative zone of the protein. They have tested it with the mouse and now want to know if it works also in humans. If so, it could be used as anti-pain.
