This title was held on 7 and 8 May at the Villa Suso Palace in Vitoria-Gasteiz III. Medical Conferences. With an organization without gaps, during these two days a broad program was achieved.

The first day in the morning and after the official presentation, R. Sociologist Saizarbitoria began the talks, analyzing social policy and the aging process. In his opinion, “it is a phenomenon known to Basque society and, apparently, a topic that deeply concerns it: the aging of our society”. However, “the pyramid of the Basque population is in the aged base”, that is, the proportion of children under 15 years old is low, since the birth rate is “average of 1.14 children per woman, less than 2.1 to reform the population”. On the other hand, he pointed out that “the Basque Autonomous Community has gone from being an area of immigration to being an area of emigration”. On social services, he noted: “there is no crisis of social protection and, more specifically, of social policy on old age, but of the crisis of the economic environment in which it is located”.

Then J. The geriatric ferro studied cardiac changes and heart disease in the elderly. The traumatic problems had a double mention: J. I. Perhaps considering that the audience was composed of different specialists, it turned out to be a round table too deep.

Second day A. It began with the Iturbe conference. His theme was aging and food, the need for foods that have the elderly, dietary balance and a proper or recommended diet. The following oral presentations were presented and to realize the breadth of topics such as heart complications, infectious diseases, inflammatory bowel diseases, AIDS, oncohematological diseases, deep vein thrombosis, bone fractures, surgical diseases, head crimes, outings to elderly hospitals, home health care, flu vaccination, etc.

We must not forget that interesting panels were also presented and that everything was collected in a book. Finally, the Annual Assembly of Osasungoa Euskalduntze Erakundea was held. The Conference was highly valued, highlighting the wide participation of professionals.

The theme was also chosen for the Conference to be held next year in Donostia: “New advances in the treatment of diseases”. We invite you to present your work.
