Italian engineer Domenico Piatti has invented a system capable of making long tunnels of safer roads and railways: Device called "robogat". The device will be located on the roof of the tunnel and will move back and forth using a lane at a speed of 50 km/h.

It can emit 3,000 litres of water per minute and withstand temperatures above 1,000°C. The robogat can drive by remote control and the fireman can transport it to the fire zone or remove the wounded from the tunnel. The system is designed for tunnels of greater length than 12 km and the most suitable is to install one on each side of the tunnel.
