Pig cells near to cure diabetes

Monkeys have cured their diabetes using insular pig cells in Langerhans at the University of Minnesota. For these pig cells to remain in the monkey they have used a new protocol of immunodeficiency.

In humans, type 1 diabetes has been achieved with the introduction of human insular cells. But demand cannot be met, and it is fundamental to have another source of insular cells like pork. The next step will be to adapt and test with humans the protocol they have tested with monkeys.
