The Natural History Museum of Great Britain and Essex University have created a computerized database of species of butterflies and chickens. In spite of the numerous studies carried out on butterflies and moths, there was no unified catalogue. In view of the need, the VIADOCS project was launched, whose result is a catalogue that collects information dispersed in different museums.

With the aim of unifying and informatizing information, a special program has been developed that has allowed to develop for three years a manual work of 430 years. Catalogue on the Internet.
