In the United States, bioengineers at Buffalo University and Shriners Burns Hospital (Boston) have used KGF protein (Keratinocyte Growth Factor) to make artificial skin that helps heal wounds faster. This protein causes the proliferation of natural skin cells. The base of the resulting tissue is a membrane formed by a molecular network. Epidermis cells easily adapt to this network and respect the composition and topography of your skin.

In addition, unlike artificial surfaces made of collagen gel, this new skin has great mechanical stability and is easily manipulable. However, the most important thing is the support it offers. It prevents dehydration and protects the skin against pathogens.
